I bought this drive for use in my TiVo HD. I was worried that since this drive was manufactured more recently than the ones recommended by the Tivo Community that I would have problems. It comes from the factory pre-configured to use the “Green” idle feature. I booted from a boot disk and used the wdidle. exe software to shut this off. I have had no problems whatsoever so far (about 1 month).

I specifically orders this HD to replace another 1TB HD (Samsung F1) in my TivoHD.
The noise level is significantly lower with the new drive.
The TiVo is in my bedroom and I can no longer hear the drive spinning. Great product so far.

I ordered this drive to replace the original drive in my Tivo HD. It works fine, but it hums too loud. I had to put some packing foam under the Tivo to keep from hearing it from outside of my entertainment cabinet. The heads are quiet, but it vibrates excessively.

I bought this to replace the original hard drive in my Tivo HD. I used WinMFS to clone the original hard drive and expand onto this one, and now have 142 hours of HD recording capacity. It runs very quietly and has been reliable so far. Rating: 5 / 5

If you’re upgrading a TivoHD or Tivo Series3 (the TivoHD IS a Series3 Tivo by the way), you’ll want to read this forum:[. . . ]Apparently there’s soft booting issues with this drive ONLY IF it was build AFTER NOVEMBER (check article for exact dates for your Tivo and particular drive). Otherwise, excellent drive for TivoHD or S3. If this review was any help. . . please rate it. If it wasn’t any help, don’t bother
