I ordered an Iomega unit and Amazon said it was on stock, but I get an email from the actual seller saying that the item is back ordered, and that I have to wait. Needed the item fast so had to call the seller and get a substitute item which arrived much later than when my original order would have been recieved.
Not happy with Amazon on this purchase at all.

I just received the item in the mail. It did not come with the the usb cable. I called the company. I was told that they would send out a cable and a hard drive but would charge me another $59. 99. I had to send the first item back. I told them I didn’t want another hard drive just the cable. Needless to say I just sent the item back and will go somewhere else to buy a hard drive. I thought this was a cool mini-toaster. Boy was I wrong. It doesn’t even cook bread. It’s one of those crappy little metal things that does other things. I bet if I knew what it did I would still think it’s worthless.

This review is based on the 500 gb model. The iomenga prestige is a great usb powered external hd with attractive aluminum(?) case. Double check the dimensions–this is a very compact unit, Reasonable speed, No noise; it is essentially silent. No software conflicts–pure plug and play. There is a double head usb cable, but it works fine for me with one connection. No connector issues per some of the other reviews. Excellent amazon delivery and sensible packaging. I think the price is excellent as well. highly recomended

it works OK for general stuff, but doesn’t transfer really large files and therefore doesn’t work well for things like video applications where files are large. Not so much a criticism of this unit, but of all USB drives. Honestly, I’d say that if you have Firewire capability, I’d make sure to get a drive that supports that, no matter what you might be doing. . . . Faster transfer rates and ability to move larger files around may come in handy.
