This net book is missing 30gb. I got 1 for my wife and 1 for my daughter and there is only 220gb on both of them. We have 3 desktops, 1 laptop and now 2 net books. If you go to the properties on your hard drive, it will tell you the amount of gb you have, including partition, this one has only 220gb. HP got sued a few years back for exactly the same thing. I know enough about computers to see that gateway did not put the right hard drive into this model. No OS needs 30gb without a partition which would be still on the physical hard drive, and no proof of those 30gb can be found anywhere. It is a cool little toy, but unless you look for it, you will never know that you got taken. I will not return them because they are Christmas presents for my family, but Gateway will never see another dollar of mine.

Purchased this product in good faith that I was receiving 250gb. When looking at the Hard Drive capacity in “My Computer”, there is only 220gb total, no extra partitions, total. Called Gateway Corporate Customer Service, was given a runaround, told to either send computer back to seller or call their Technical Support. This so-called Customer Service told me it was a problem with hard drives, industry-wide, nothing they can do, then backtracked on himself when I said this was false advertising – the box states 250gb, advertising states 250gb, and the consumer would only know that it was really 220gb when looking within their hard drive capacity (in My Computer tab). I then called Gateway Tech Support, in INDIA, and had a runaround for over 1 1/2 hours. Bottom line they have nothing in print that states the customer (us) is only getting 220gb but it really is 250gb. Tech Support tried to pass it off on Toshiba since the hard drive is manufactured by them. Long story short, this is the first and last time I will buy a Gateway product. Check your hard drive if you have purchased this, and see what real capacity of hard drive you’ve been sold. This isn’t Amazon’s fault, I’m sure they assume they are selling a 250gb netbook.

Pretty good computer for the most part. I’m basically your standard MS Office and web user and I’m pretty happy with its function. Especially considering its size and price. BIGGEST COMPLAINT(S): only has 206GB hard-drive free (states it is 250GB). . that should be illegal!!!! Also, couldn’t get the anti-virus offer stop popping up no matter what I did. . called customer service, got reps in India who could barely speak English only to be told it is a “software” issue and only “hardware” issues are covered by the warranty, and then tried to sell me something like $30 for the service call. Are you friggin’ kidding me?! That should also be illegal. Who’s regulating these companies?! Rating: 3 / 5

Got my little notebook for Christmas, thanks kids, and got to use it for several weeks before the problem started. I was getting power surge notices which was corrupting my work, meaning I has to stop and fix the message and restart thus loosing online work. Three weeks of online help with numerous ‘fixes’ from simple bios reload to a complete system restore. Kept telling them it was a motherboard issue. So they finally agreed to take it in to repair facility and I had to pay for shipping. Two more weeks, it is now March 5th, got the computer back yesterday and it still gives me an error message! Called again, number ? I forget how many times, send it back and we will definitely fix it this time. So now I will again be with out my computer for another two and a half weeks while they try to fix it again. Rating: 2 / 5

After a month, the screen has blanked out, the computer is slow, and seems cheaply constructed. Gateway has really slipped and i will never purchase one again. I got some guy in India for customer service that told me i qualify for the warranty but i have to pay for the shipping to the repair center. However, amazon shipped my product to me fast and met all expectations.
