    This seems to be a big mistake from Apple: a cutting edge display that does not connect to the rest of the Apple products other than their **most recent models** of Macbook/Macbook Pro.

    The display WILL NOT work with any of the following Apple models:

    * Mac Pro 2. 8GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xeon

    * Mac Pro 3. 2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

    * Mac MINI 1. 83GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    * Mac MINI 2. 0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    * 13-inch MacBook with Intel GMA X3100 graphics

    * Any older models of MacBook Pro

    The 24” LED display uses the DISPLAYPORT technology. While there are adaptors to convert displayport
    to DVI, there are no adaptors to convert from DVI to DisplayPort, which are what’s needed for this to work. The lack of connectivity solution severely limits the utility of this display, despite its other features such as built-in camera and speaker. A Google search will quickly lead you to Apple’s own online discussion community. This as well as AppleCare and Apple Customer Service all confirm this limitation of the 24” LED display model. I would stay away from this display until a solution becomes available (which may never be).

    While is is a pretty monitor it is unusable with all but the most recent MacBooks. It will connect to a MacPro But I do not recommend it as the cable is very short. The glossy finish can be an issue as well. If you want an apple dislay go to 30″ which is more flexible (connectivity -wise). Tha Apple Mini-Displayport is not for anyone but brand new macbook owners. Rating: 2 / 5

    IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY THIS MONITOR. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ALSO HAVE THE LATEST VERSION OF THE APPLE COMPUTER (IT WON’T WORK ON OTHER BRAND OF COMPUTERS EITHER. ) BECAUSE EVEN IF YOU JUST BOUGHT AN APPLE COMPUTER 6 MONTHS AGO, IT MIGHT NOT WORK WITH THIS MONITOR. I just bought the monitor. I have a Macbook Pro that’s less than 1 year old, and I found out that it only works with the LATEST macbook which came out a few months ago. Apple came out with the MINI DISPLAY PORT, so this monitor ONLY works on the latest version of the Macbook Pro and only the latest Macs a few months ago. My Macbook Pro has the DVI port and there is NO CONVERTER available for it. I asked the sales rep at the Apple store, and they said that since the Monitor came out in November, they still haven’t develope a converter for it yet. I’m irritated because I had to call and run around looking for a converter only to find that converters are not available. I was not aware that this monitor is not compatible with a laptop that I bought from APPLE less than 1 year ago. On their website, they said “Introducing the 24-inch LED Cinema Display. It doesn’t just expand the screen of your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air. ” It should have said “the latest version of the Macbook, Macbook Pro, or Macbook Air only”. Rating: 1 / 5

    It’s a really sexy screen with very crisp image but the manufacturing quality is horrible. The screen constantly flickers and changes colors and changes shades. Can’t get any help since I didn’t have time to deal with this in the first 30 days.

    I got one of these and had to return it because I didn’t catch the part about the minidisplay port – my fault. For all of you saying it’s unreasonable for anyone to even complain about the minidisplay issue – chew on this. If you have a mac pro that is say, 1 year old, you can’t even buy a new 24″ inch apple display that is compatible with your computer now. My gripe and most everyone else’s is that there is nothing else in the apple stable for most of the computers out there. I love apple, but this is just stupid marketing. Also I do think the glossy screen is a problem for many users. Style over substance.
